Venue Description
The Cui Shan Trail is located on the northern hillside of Dalunwei Mountain, at the border of Neihu and Shilin Districts in Taipei City. Converted from the former site of the Shilin police firing range, it is an easy and pleasant forest trail. The one-way trail is over 2 kilometers long with a gentle slope. The path consists of stone bricks, gravel, and wooden boardwalks, and is almost entirely shaded by trees. Along the way, visitors can see the old firing range grassland, observation decks, and large rocks resembling wooden horses, with multiple resting platforms provided. At the Longevity Slope (Changshoupo) at the end, there is a section of stone steps that connects to Bixi Trail and Sun Plaza; hikers can also turn back here if they prefer not to climb. Mobile toilets are available at the entrance, though some facilities and interpretive signs are rather old. Transportation is convenient: at the Zhongshe Road Section 2 entrance, there is a bus stop (route 255), roadside parking, and free parking spaces. It is suitable for hiking, strolling, dog walking, and family activities for all ages. Visitors are advised to pay attention to trail markers and assess their physical condition.
Review Summary
Located at the border of Neihu and Shilin, Cui Shan Trail is a popular, easy hiking route suitable for visitors of all ages, including families and seniors. The trail is approximately 2 kilometers long, with a flat surface and almost entirely shaded by trees. Even in summer, visitors can enjoy a cool and comfortable environment. In addition to the beautiful trail scenery, there are multiple resting areas along the way, allowing visitors to stop and enjoy nature or rest at any time. Customers generally praise this trail for being easy to walk, especially suitable for those with limited physical strength. However, the quality of the mobile toilets at the entrance needs improvement. Furthermore, while the trail is suitable for families and seniors, some sections in the latter half might lead to getting lost or encountering old facilities, so visitors are advised to pay special attention to trail markers. Overall, Cui Shan Trail is well-planned, conveniently accessible, and offers abundant natural landscapes, attracting many outdoor enthusiasts and those wishing to connect with nature.
