Venue Description
A historic hiking trail spanning Gongliao District, New Taipei City and Toucheng Township, Yilan County. It is one of the surviving sections of the Danlan Historic Trail, and in earlier times, it was a vital route connecting Taipei and Yilan. The total length is about 8.5 kilometers. The trail is well-planned with moderate difficulty, featuring stone steps and rest pavilions along the way. Visitors can also see historic relics such as the "Tiger Tablet" and "Xiong Zhen Man Yan" inscription. From higher elevations, you can overlook Guishan Island, Fulong Beach, and the continuous mountain and sea scenery. Most visitors start from Fulong Railway Station, take a bus to Yuanwangkeng Entrance to begin the hike, then descend to Dali Railway Station for return transport. A one-way walk takes approximately two to four hours, allowing visitors to flexibly choose a half-day or full-day itinerary. The scenery during the autumn/winter silvergrass season is particularly popular. It is recommended to bring your own water and food, as there are not many supply points along the way. Some sections can be slippery after rain, and parking is difficult on holidays. It is suitable for families, parents with children, and general hiking enthusiasts.
